Calwell High School has teaching teams based around the key learning areas of Mathematics, Science, English, Studies of Society and the Environment (SOSE), Arts, Technology and Physical Education and Health.

Extension courses are offered in Mathematics, English, Science, Studies of Society and the Environment and through elective units such as Indonesian. Students are actively encouraged to become involved in a range of national competitions and subject related enrichment activities.

Classes in the core subject areas are streamed from Year 7 to Year 10 and smaller classes provide extra support for students with learning difficulties in these subjects. Streaming allows us to effectively get resources to students while still providing educational challenges.
